Beach wheelchair and beach car

To make the beach more accessible for people with disabilities, beach wheelchairs are available free of charge all year round. These wheelchairs are available at various beach pavilions from April to September:

  • Alexander Beach (Noordwijk)
  • De koele Costa (Noordwijk)
  • De Zeespiegel (Duindamse slag)
  • Nederzandt (Noordwijkerhout)
  • Have a look at the website for information about Katwijk.

In winter, these beach wheelchairs can be reserved from Mr. C. Imthorn on 0620431118.
Disabled parking spaces are also available near the beach exits.

The beach rollators are made entirely of hard plastic. The soft and wide pneumatic tires make them ideal for the sandy beach. They are also seawater resistant, so you can take them into the water for a short distance.

In addition to beach wheelchairs, there is also beach car/wagon. The Outdoor4Disabled Foundation ensures that people with physical disabilities and older people with walking difficulties can also enjoy the beach. They do this by organizing beach trips with the “Strandrups De Vrijbuiten”. It was specially developed for people with a physical disability.

Pending new developments regarding the Strandrups, the following dates are subject to change
For people with disabilities, the Outdoor4disabled foundation organizes beach trips along the tide line. Rides are possible on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. A ride takes about an hour. Each ride accommodates eight people who can walk themselves, or five wheelchairs.
