Information and Frequently Asked Questions

Booking online ensures that you have a good bike during your stay. It prevents waiting times during pick-up because we already have all your data in the system. Payment is easily done online via the website, so that you can take the bike with you immediately. 

  • The rental period varies from 9 am to 6 pm in the high season, and 10 am to 5 pm in the low season.
  • Legitimation required.
  • We are entitled to request a deposit.
  • You are deemed to have received the bicycle in good condition.
  • The tenant will handle the rented item(s) with care.
  • The bicycle must always be locked (with the added chain).
  • It is forbidden to go on the beach by bicycle.
  • Maximum one person per bicycle or two on a tandem. Small children must use a child seat.
  • The tenant is liable for damage to the rented item(s), unless rental guarantee is chosen as an option. 
  • The tenant is legally liable for damage caused to third parties.
  • In case of loss of the bicycle key €10.00 will be charged.
  • Reserved bicycles are available for you until 11 a.m., unless prepaid.
  • In case of late return, we are entitled to charge an extra full day’s rent.
  • In the event of theft, the current value will be charged, not including the rental price.
  • The use of the bicycle is at your own risk.
  • You are deemed to have taken note of the rental conditions. 

If you opt for the rental guarantee, you are insured for:

  • Cancellation: free of charge up to 2 days (48 hours) before the start of the rental period. (Refund within 5 working days).
  • Damage: no costs incurred in case of damage to rented items, unless caused by improper use.
  • Theft: no compensation, provided you can present the bicycle key. Reporting to the police is mandatory.

Costs of the rental guarantee:

Citybike and similar, non-electric: €2 per day
E-bikes: €3.50 per day
Electric cargo bikes: €4.50 per day
Special bikes: €6 per day

If you choose our rental guarantee, it entitles you to a 100% refund or relocation of the reservation up to 2 days before the start of the rental period.

Without a rental guarantee, the conditions are as followed: 
– 100% refund up to 30 days before the start of the rental period
– 50% refund up to 7 days before the start of the rental period 

You will receive a refund of the paid rental price within 7 days. 

Although in most cases we do not do this, we are entitled to request a deposit and the staff may request it. Deposit for city / children’s bicycle 100 euros, e-bike / tandem / cargo bike 150 euros, e-cargo bike and special bicycles 200 euros.

We can also ask you to identify yourself.

The bicycle is not automatically insured. You can take out an “insurance” (rental guarantee) against theft and damage when renting a bicycle. 

In the event of theft or loss of the rented item (bicycle), you must immediately report this to us. You must also report this to the police of the municipality in which the incident occurred.

In case of theft or loss, we equate the direct damage to the current value of the rented item. In that case, you must therefore reimburse the current market value of the Rental. The rent is not included. 

You can choose the Rental Guarantee with us for a small fee, to exclude costs in the event of theft and more.

We hope you don’t to have any problems with the rented items. But if something happens, you can call us and we will help you with the best solution. +31 (0)85-4001006 Only available by phone during opening hours. Maximum travel distance for help on the road – 30 km from Noordwijk. Minor repairs or flat tires can be repaired at a local bike shop at Lemonbike’s expense – for example if you are in Zandvoort or Scheveningen.

Would you like to bike carefree with a tour guide? Send an email to info@lemonbike.nl with the desired date, time and number of people. Then we will look at what is possible for you.

Enjoy cycling in the evening? Then return the bike the next morning before 9:30 am. Extra costs 3 euro for a standard bicycle and 6 euros for electric bicycles. You can book this online or request this in the shop.

With electric bikes we provide a charger so that you can charge the bike at night. If this is not done, we will charge an extra day’s rent because we cannot rent out the bike the next day. 

If you have any questions about the extended day rental, please contact us. 

Bicycles can be delivered to your holiday address or hotel. We deliver (bring and pick up) the bike(s) for €15 – region Noordwijk / Noordwijkerhout / Katwijk. We deliver free of charge to your holiday address from 5 days of rental. 

In consultation we can also deliver outside the region, you can contact us by e-mail. Costs depend on the distance. 

You can book a delivery up to and including 2 days in advance.

We have special rates for larger groups. Call or email us for more information or quotation. We can also deliver larger numbers of bicycles to events.

Our range includes a Gazelle cargo bike with a foldable container to save space during storage. Two small children and luggage fit into this. This also applies to the electric cargo bike from Dolly. We can supply a rain cover over this bicycle. We also have an electric cargo bike from Bakfiets.nl to bring a dog. A basket or bench is available for this cargo bike.

We sell our young used bicycles after one or a few seasons at very competitive prices. Ask for it in our shop or have a look on our website www.tweedehandsfietsshop.nl

Most of Lemonbike’s bicycles were purchased new. The Gazelle Citybike and E-bike are the more luxurious models with suspension and 7 gears. The E-bike has an extra heavy battery for more range. The other brands we carry are Batavus, Giant, Phatfour, Loekie, Van Raam and Dolly cargo bikes.

During the processing of personal data Lemonbike works conform the requirements of the applicable data protection legislation, like the General Data Protection Regulation.
This means we:

  • Clearly specify our purposes before we process personal data, by using this
    privacy statement;
  • Limit our collection of personal data to only the personal data needed for
    legitimate purposes;
  • First ask for explicit permission to process your personal data in cases where
    your permission is required;
  • Respect your right to access, correct or delete your personal data held by us.

Lemonbike is the party responsible for all data processing. In this privacy statement, we will explain what kind of personal data we collect and for which purposes withinour app Lemonbike App. We recommend that you read it carefully.If you have any questions regarding the processing of personal data, you can find thecontactdetails of Lemonbike B.V. at the end of this privacy statement.

 

Subscription

Via Lemonbike App you can take out a paid subscription. We use your personal data to complete the payment.
‍For this purpose, we use your invoice address, gender, phone number, email address, payment details and name and address details. We need this data because of our agreement with you. We store this information until you cancel your subscription. Certain types of personal data will be retained for a longer period with regards to the legal tax retention..

 

Access to portal

Within our portal, you can access a management environment where you can set, specify and change settings. We will keep track of your activities for proof.
For this purpose, we use your phone number, email address, name and address details and gender. We need this data because of our agreement with you. We store this information until our services to you have ended.

 

Contact form

You can use our e-mail address below for any information or complaints.

Sending newsletters

Once or twice a year we have a newsletter to inform those interested on news, tips and information about our products and services. Your e-mail address is automatically added to the list of subscribers.

For this purpose, we use your name and address details, gender, email address and phone number. We need this data because of our agreement with you. We store this information for one month after you cancelled your subscription.

You may cancel your subscription to our newsletter at any time. Each newsletter contains a link to unsubscribe from our newsletter.

 

Statistics and profiling

We keep statistics on the use of our app. These statistics help us to, for example, only show you information that is relevant to you. We may combine personal data to get to know more about you. We will of course respect your privacy at all times. If you do not want us to do these statistics, please let us know.
For this purpose, we use your email address, name and address details, gender and phone number. We do this on the basis of your consent. We store this information for one year.

 

Registration

Certain features of our service require you to register beforehand. You will have to provide some information about yourself and choose a username and password for the account that we will set up for you.
‍For this purpose, we use your payment details, gender, invoice address, name and address details, email address and phone number. We need this data because of our agreement with you. We store this information for three months after you closed your account.
‍We will retain this data so that you do not have to re-enter it every time you visit our website, and in order to contact you in connection with the execution of the agreement, invoicing and payment, and to provide an overview of the products and services you have purchased from us.

 

Promotion

Other than the advertisements on the website, we can inform you about new products or services:

  • by e-mail- via social media- per phone

You can object at all times against this promotional communication. Every e-mail contains a cancellation link. On social media, you can block us or use the cancellation option. You can also inform us when we call you. You can also inform us through your account. Further, you can inform us through the portal.

 

Location services

If necessary, we may collect your location data (GPS). If that is the case, you will be asked to grant consent beforehand.
This location data and other data can also be stored and processed by the provider of the navigation/mapping software, such as Google Maps, but the data could also be used by, for example, Google or Apple itself. We have no control over their actions. We recommend that you read the applicable privacy statement of the provider in question.

 

App Store

The app providing the service has been downloaded via a third-party app store. We have no influence on which personal data the provider will process or to what purpose it will be processed. We recommend that you read the applicable privacy statement of the provider in question.

 

Providing data to third parties

Except for the parties necessary to deliver the above mentioned services, we do not under any circumstance provide your personal data to other companies or organisations, unless we are required to do so by law (for example, when the police demands access to personal data in case of a suspected crime).

Our website may feature social media buttons. These buttons are used by the providers of these services to collect your personal data.

 

Statistics

We keep statistics on the use of our app.

 

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to track visitors on our website and to get reports about how visitors use the website. We accepted the data processing agreement from Google. We do allow Google to use information obtained by Analytics for other Google services, and we don’t anonymise the IP-adresses.

 

Security

We take security measures to reduce misuse of and unauthorised access to personal data. We take responsibility in the security of your personal data. We renew our security measures to ensure safe storage of personal data and keep track what might go wrong.

 

Changes to this privacy statement

We reserve the right to modify this statement. We recommend that you consult this statement on a regular basis, so that you remain informed of any changes.

 

Inspection and modification of your data

You can always contact us if you have any questions regarding our privacy policy or wish to review, modify or delete your personal data.

You have the following rights:

  • Right of access: you have the right to see what kind of personal data we processed about you;
  • Right of rectification: you have the right to rectify any personal data we have processed about you, if this information is (partially) wrong;
  • Right to complain: you have the right to file a complaint against the processing of your personal data by us, or against direct marketing;
  • Right to be forgotten: you can file a request with us to remove any personal data we have processed of you;
  • Right to data portability: if technically possible, you have the right to ask us to transfer your processed personal data to a third party;
  • Right to restriction of processing: you can file a request with us to (temporarily)restrict the processing of your personal data.

If you exercise any of the rights mentioned above, we might ask to identify yourself with a valid ID, to confirm it is your personal data. If so, it is important that you hide your social security number and photo.

We will usually respond to your request within 30 days. This term can be extended if the request is proven to be complex or tied to a specific right. You will be notified about a possible extension of this term.

 

Complaints

If you want to file a complaint about our use of personal data, please send an email with the details of your complaint to privacy@x.bike. We will look into and respond to any complaint we receive. If you think that we are not helping you in the right way, you have the right to file a complaint at the authority. For The Netherlands, this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
